Bei einem Besuch im Land des Kaffees hat Marlis beschlossen, dass ein Besuch des Kaffeedreiecks zum Pflichtprogramm gehört. Yannik sah das zwar nicht so – aber zum Glück befindet sich auch das atemberaubend schöne Cocora Valley im Kaffedreieck, sodass wir beide einen Besuchsgrund hatten :)
Gewohnt haben wir hier im malerischen Dörfchen Salento. Von wo aus wir sowohl zu den Kaffeefarmen laufen, als auch das Valle del Cocora erkunden könnten!
In diesem Tal wächst der Nationalbaum Kolumbiens, die Quindio Wachspalme (benannt nach der Provinz), die bis zu 60 Meter hoch werden kann und damit die größte Palme der Welt ist.
Im Valle de Cocora gibt es einen tollen Wanderweg durch die Palmen – über wackelige Hängebrücken und mit einem Colibrí Sanctuary. Der Wanderweg führt auch durch den Nationalpark Los Nevados. Hier befindet sich der Nevado del Ruiz, der zweithöchste aktive Vulkan der nördlichen Erdhalbkugel (5.321 Meter). Dich da man nicht weiß, wann der Vulkan als nächstes ausbricht, durfte er aktuell nicht bewandert werden. Und ihr kennt ja unsere Talent für Naturkatastrophen… Daher beließen wir es bei einer 5h-Wanderung durch das wunderschöne Cocora Tal und verbrachten die Zeit mit riesigen Bäumen und winzigen Kolibris.
